Premature ejaculation and SEX-therapy

Sex-therapy as a PE treatment method is based upon a number of tricks allowing to control the ejaculation process to certain extend. This therapy may be efficient enough and allows to increase intercourse duration to 5-10 minutes.

The most popular techniques are the squeeze technique and the ‘Start Stop’ method.

The former means that a partner sqeezes the end of the penis (where the glans meets the shaft) just before ejaculation occurs. It helps to inhibit ejaculation so a penis can further be stimulated orally or manually.

The ‘Start Stop’ method is quite simple. You should try to reach your arousal peak point but not cross the line between arousal and ejaculation. When the man recognizes that he is about to ejaculate any stimulation is removed. 10-20 seconds is enough for arousal to cease somewhat, and the stimulation can be resumed. The sequence is repeated several times for 15-20 minutes, then the stimulation can be continued until the ejaculation occurs. It takes several weeks to practice this technique, assuming that you do it 4-5 times a week. First you can train by your own (when masturbating), and then you may well involve your partner to stimulate your penis manually. This time a man should lay on his back and try to concentrate on his physical sensations. Feeling the onset of orgasm he gives a ‘stop’ signal, and his partner squeezes the end of the penis or its shaft for several seconds. After the ejaculation stops being inevitable, stimulation can be resumed until the next ejaculation onset.

We should say that first attempts to practice these techniques are typically a failure - men aren’t skillful enough in controlling their physical sensations during the intercourse and foreseeing the ejaculation.

Another negative aspect is the absence of short-term results (typically it takes 4-6 months of regular practice to achieve more or less satisfactory performance), and that often makes men feel unconfident about this method.

Yet the most important shortage of such a therapy is an adequate partner participating in treatment which in practice is hardly possible.
